Twilio - Other Guides
You may need to do a few other things in Twilio, here are some guides for those tasks.
Regulatory Bundle
In some countries, you need to add a regulatory bundle before you can buy a phone number.
Step 1 — Go to Regulatory Bundles
Log in to your Twilio account.
In the sidebar, go to Phone Numbers → Regulatory Compliance.
Click Bundles.
Select Create a Regulatory Bundle (top-right corner).
Step 2 — Choose country and phone number type
Select the country where you want to purchase the number.
Choose the type of phone number required (e.g., local, mobile, toll-free).
Select the option that best fits your business.
Click Continue.
Step 3 — Enter business information
Fill in your business name.
Enter the registration authority and business registration number.
Add your company website.
Provide your business address.
Click Continue.
Step 4 — Add representative details
Enter the representative’s full name.
Provide their phone number.
Add the regulatory bundle friendly name (this will appear inside Twilio).
Enter the email address for notifications.
Click Confirm & Continue.
Step 5 — Submit and wait for approval
Your regulatory bundle is now created.
Twilio will review and approve it.
Once approved, you’ll be able to purchase phone numbers in the selected country.
Creating Twilio Subaccount
You may wish to add multiple accounts to Topa.io, you can create sub accounts for each of your customers / projects in Twilio. Here is how you can do it.
Step 1 — Go to Sub-Accounts
Log in to your Twilio account.
Click the Account dropdown at the top-left of your dashboard.
Select View subaccounts.
Step 2 — Create a New Sub-Account
Click Create a Sub-Account.
Enter a name for your new sub-account.
Click Create.
Step 3 — Access the Sub-Account
Once created, click on the sub-account name to open it.
It functions as a separate account with its own dashboard and credentials.
All charges are still billed to your main Twilio account.
Geographic Permissions
Sometimes you need to enable certain countries prefixes if they are deemed to be higher risk in Twilio
Step 1 — Open Geographic Permissions
Log in to your Twilio account.
Go to Voice → Geographic Permissions.
Step 2 — Enable allowed countries
Review the list of countries.
Tick the box next to the countries you want to allow (e.g., Denmark, France, Germany).
Scroll down and click Save.
Step 3 — Check high-risk countries
If your country does not appear in the Low Risk section, open the High Risk tab.
From here, you can enable additional countries if needed.
Buying a New Phone Number
With Topa.io, you can purchase a new phone number directly inside your Twilio account and sync it instantly to Topa.io. Once synced, the number can be used for voicemails, SMS, and campaigns inside your Topa account.
Follow the steps below to purchase a new Twilio number and sync it to Topa.io.
Step 1 — Buy a New Phone Number in Twilio
Log in to your Twilio account.
Go to Phone Numbers
Click Buy a New Number
Step 2 — Choose Country and Capabilities
On the number selection screen:
Select the country code for the phone number you want to purchase
Choose the capabilities you need:
SMS
Voice calls
Once the results load, review the capabilities shown for each number to confirm whether it supports SMS, voice calls, or both.
When you’ve found the number you want, click Buy.
Step 3 — Complete the Purchase
Click Next
Select the option that best fits your use case
Choose your approved regulatory bundle
Click Buy to complete the purchase
Step 4 — Configure and Name the Phone Number
After purchasing the number:
Click Configure
Rename the phone number to something recognizable (this helps identify it later when using it in Topa.io)
Click Save
Step 5 — Sync the Phone Number to Topa.io
Now head over to Topa.io.
Go to Phone Numbers
Click Sync with Twilio
Your newly purchased Twilio number will now appear inside your Topa.io account.
Step 6 — Use the Number in Your Campaigns
Once synced, the phone number is ready to use.
You can now:
Select it in campaigns
Use it for voicemail drops
Use it for SMS sending
That’s it — your Twilio number is now fully connected and usable inside Topa.io.
