Creating a Linkedin Automation Campaign

Start sending message to existing or new connections within minutes.

Step 1: Open Campaigns

  1. Log in to Topa

  2. In the sidebar, open Linkedin Automation

  3. Click Campaigns

  4. Click New Campaign

Step 2: Choose Your Campaign Type

Existing Contacts

Use this to message people you are already connected with.

  1. Name the campaign and build your sequence (connection request, then messages and waits). You can use our website scanner to help you write them.

  2. Optionally set Max New Leads Per Day Per Account.

  3. Choose All Existing Connections, or Apply Filters by job title and/or country.

Topa pulls leads from the sending account's 1st-degree connections (up to 1,000 per account). There is no CSV upload step for this type.

New Connections

Use this to send connection requests and follow-up messages to new people.

  1. Name the campaign and build your sequence (connection request, then messages and waits). You can use our website scanner to help you write them.

  2. Optionally set Max New Leads Per Day Per Account.

  3. Insert leads by Upload Contacts Via CSV (Linkedin URL required) or Use Our Lead Database.

The lead database is automatically filtered to people with over 500 connections, to enhance your connection acceptance rate.

If you use a connection note, Linkedin Premium is required for that note.

Step 3: Write Your Messaging Sequence

Here you design your messaging sequence, you can adjust the wait times between steps, write your personalised messages / connection note or use AI to do it for you after its scanned your website.

Existing Connections

Use this to message people you are already connected with. There is no connection request step.

Default flow:

  1. Send Linkedin Message

  2. Wait (default 1 day)

  3. Send Linkedin Message

  4. Wait (default 1 day)

  5. Send Linkedin Message

Tips:

  • Keep messages short and conversational

  • Space follow-ups with Wait steps (hours or days)

  • Add or remove message / wait steps as needed

  • Click {firstname} to insert the personalisation token

  • Linkedin DMs can be up to 8,000 characters

AI Message Writer fills the three message steps for this campaign type (not a connection note).

New Connections

Use this to send connection requests, then follow up after they accept.

Default flow:

  1. Send Connection Request (optional connection note)

  2. Wait (default 1 day — usually until they accept)

  3. Send Linkedin Message

  4. Wait

  5. Send Linkedin Message

  6. Wait

  7. Send Linkedin Message

Connection request notes:

  • Turn on Turn On Connection Note if you want a note with the invite

  • Connection notes need Linkedin Premium

  • Keep notes under 300 characters

  • Do not hard-sell in the connection note — it can cut your acceptance rate

  • The connection request is skipped if you are already connected

After accept, your follow-up Linkedin messages run in order with the Wait gaps you set.

AI Message Writer fills the follow-up message steps for this campaign type.

Step 4: Linkedin Accounts To Send From

On the Schedule step, select one or more Active Linkedin accounts to send from.

  • For Existing Contacts, those accounts' connections are the people the campaign messages.

  • For New Connections, those accounts send the connection requests and messages to your uploaded or database leads.

You need at least one Active account. Reconnect any disconnected account first.

Step 5: Schedule

Choose:

  • Active days (for example Monday–Friday)

  • Sending window (for example 09:00–17:00)

Actions only run during this window on the selected days.

Step 6: Add Leads Via Webhook

Every campaign gets a webhook URL you can use to add more Linkedin profile URLs later.

Example body:

{ "Linkedinurl": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/example/" }

Duplicate URLs in the same campaign are skipped. For Existing Contacts, the URL must be a 1st-degree connection of the sending account or it is filtered out.

Optionally require an API key from Integrations.

Step 7: Positive Reply / Connection Webhook

You can also turn on a webhook for positive replies and connection accepted events.

After You Create

Campaigns are created as Paused. From the Campaigns list you can Start Campaign, pause it, view the queue, edit the sequence, copy, hide, or archive it.

If a lead replies, the sequence for that lead is stopped.
